What Is A
DOULA?
A Doula is a non-medical support professional who holds space for the client and family, provides emotional and physical support, and provides information to client’s needs and desires.

What We Do

Emotional and Physical Support
The Doula may use tools for counter pressure/massage to help with pain and use a rebozo with physical comfort. The Doula is there to help with a shift in hormones and give words of encouragement.

Educate The Family
The Doula will go over common topics to help educate the client and the family. The Doula will go over risk/benefits when we make the birth plan and during birth.

Amplify Family’s Voice
The Doula will help encourage informed decision making and will help with self-advocacy. The Doula will help the client figure out what the birth wishes are.

Provide
Resources
The Doula will have a list of resources and can refer clients to places to help with anything after the birth.
